Please note the site's new address: myvegblog.com. The old WordPress site will no longer be updated, so if you could be so kind, please update your bookmarks and resubscribe to the RSS feed. The new site has some new features:
Recipe Index
I've tried out a lot of recipes in the past three years, and many of them are featured here. A lot of my posts are recipe reviews, but some of them include original and adapted recipes. I've compiled them all in the Recipes & Reviews section, organized into 10 categories.
More Recipes
Until recently, I posted three times a week over at Apartment Therapy: The Kitchn, so I've racked up quite a few recipes, reviews and other posts there, as well. If you'd like to check them out, I've listed my favorites in the More Recipes section.
My Vegetable Garden
I've finally found a little space to grow some vegetables of my own. I
recently signed up for a 4'x6' plot at the new Peterson
Garden Project in Chicago's 40th Ward. The site was actually part
of an original World War II Victoria Garden from 1942 to 1945, which I
think is pretty freaking cool. I have planted some vegetables in planters outside of my new apartment in Madison, Wis. It will be my first real attempt at gardening and I'll be documenting
my progress on My
Vegetable Garden page.
New Equipment
I've traded in my old point and shoot for a DSLR (a Nikon D5000, for those of you who are into that sort of thing). Photos have always been the most challenging part of this whole endeavor
for me, but I've slowly seen some improvements over the years. The new
camera has already made a big difference, even
though I'm still trying to figure out all of its bells and whistles.
Going through my old photos here, I cringed when I saw some of the old ones, and a few of the newer ones. But I figure it's all part of this whole learning process, so they're still here, for anyone to see if you're so inclined. Just don't say I didn't warn you – a few of the old ones were taken with a flash!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my new site. I hope you find something tasty!
